IMO I would not recommend sharing an account as only one user can log in at a time and situations like this are all too common. If you paid for the pack with the knowledge that you would share the EA account then a fraud was not really committed. If you paid for the pack with a credit/debit card you came claim fraud. I understand what you are saying but it is common for some one to buy EA products with some one else paying for it. I don't have a physical copy (I have digital) but know because I have seen them in the shop and have a few physical ones for the sims 3. It has it written on the packet (and has since the sims 3) that you need a base game to use it. EA might not help them now I think about it. They tend to add it to your account though rather than give a code. What I meant was that there is a chance they will help. This person will not receive a new code and any rep who attempts to offer one will be immediately terminated. Issuance of a new code would be piracy and modification of the original account without a written agreement or court order would be theft. No, if the person states that they co-purchased the code under the other person's account then the EA representative cannot legally offer any kind of compensation or adjustment of the account. Perhaps having the activation code as part-of (not just that though, prepare other solutions too) your evidence would work. They will help you for other (valid) reasons too as long as you have something to say 'I purchased it'. It is simply not true that they won't help you unless you lost access to your account. "Sorry, you're out of luck."Įveryone has a long story and to permit re-use of activation codes for any reason other than "I've purchased it and have lost access to my account which no one other than myself has ever made contact with" would enable piracy. The EA representative will tell the person that they must purchase a new product key since there is no possibility of validating the person'cs claim to anything which was activated with the other account. There is no simple solution to this problem. The only way I see to correct this w/o creating a war is to just give a new product number and that is up to the discretion of the EA customer service rep. I don't believe EA can remove the GTW pack because the x can always say she paid for it and why did the pack get removed. There have been people who have purchased the game, only to immediately have this issue arise and not be able to play it.> - Basically you have a he said she said problem here. I recently attempted to start up the game again, and they still have not addressed the issue. I said, "No, this has clearly been an issue for a few years, which EA has never attempted to address." So I asked for a refund for this game I paid for and now cannot play because of fault of the company, and all she could offer me was the shittiest and cheapest games they have. She said, "EA is working very hard to fix this issue. So, I chat up tech support and after everything, they found it to be a problem with the game. I did a bit of googling, and this is the same situation for anyone who has tried to reinstall the game since at least 2013. The entire game is trashed - the launch window is mostly transparent, the latest update will not install, and I cannot play the game. Last year, I had a problem with TSM and had to reinstall the game.
